Pho Hoa @ The Curve...

I love Vietnamese food, and with so many Vietnamese restaurants around, you’d think that finding a good place to eat wouldn’t be that big a problem right?

Wrong.

We decided to try this restaurant called Pho Hua at The Curve the other night, and was a bit disappointed by the food.

The spring rolls were overstuffed with noodles and not much else. The standard beef noodles were just a tad under-flavoured but to be fair, they did give generous portions of condiments to accompany it.

For the price they charged, it was only a so-so meal. I’d suggest Vietnam Kitchen. For the same price, you’ll get a heck of a lot better meal. Be sure to try the Six-Treasures Drink – trust me on this one, you’ll love it.

Bangkok photos...FINALLY!

Okay, okay, so I’ve been heinous about updating my blog the past couple of weeks…what’s worse, the new phone I’m using takes a little getting used to – but bloody hell if I didn’t go and erase off all the photos I took in Bangkok!! *grrrr…*

Anyway, I finally got around to unpacking all my stuff last night, and here are some of the highlights, and yes, I DO mean HIGHLIGHTS…there isn’t enough space to show you EVERYTHING I bought!: (apologies for the picture quality)

This bag was a total bargain for RM10…

…I brought back an entire PILE of clothes…if I’m not mistaken, the damage was…8 tops, 7 dresses and 2 skirts…

…pretty hair blossoms…

…you could never ever find these in Malaysia…

…thanks to the huge amounts of products I bought from Boots pharmacy (I am so IN LOVE with that place), they gave me tons of freebies. Apparently, every 350baht you spend (about RM35), they give you some free products and testers, so everything you see in the picture above is FREE!!...

…as well as everything you see in THIS picture too!! *heaven*...

…and a nice pair of beaded flip-flops to round it all off!
So that, in a nutshell, was my trip to Bangkok…I’ll go into more detail with the products I bought on this site as we go along yea? Hope you all have a good week ahead!

50% for 50 years...

Okay, so this isn't exactly a review, but it's something interesting to note - from tomorrow till Merdeka Day (that's 31st August to you non-Malaysians!), New Zealand Natural's having a 50% sale off all their ice cream (except their 'flos')...so what're you waiting for?

As for me, I'll be zooming in straight for the 'Fruits of the Forest', 'Boysenberry', 'Rum & Raisin' and 'Mint Choc Kisses'...oooo yeah...

La Source - Extreme Foot Therapy Cream...

It irritates me that I have tough skin on the soles of my feet, and I’ve tried literally everything from pumice stones to scrubs. Sure, the scrubs leave your feet soft – but only for all of 10 minutes. All the lotions applied can’t actually prevent the hard skin from developing, which is a real pain.

And then, I happened across Crabtree & Evelyn's La Source Extreme Foot Therapy Cream. Since I already loved the hand cream from the same range, I decided to give the foot cream a try. The cream keeps your soles soft for a full 24hours (unless you happen to go running on the sand or walk barefoot all the time!)

The cream claims to contain seaweed extract, emollient oils and natural rice flour which leaves your feet silky soft with no sticky residue. However, from personal experience I’ve found you need to actually sit still after applying the cream in order for it to be fully absorbed into the skin. Try to go running immediately after application, and you are so going to be slipping across the floor instead.

Best tip? Apply after a nice warm shower, just before bed and let it sink in while you sleep.

Banish Flyaways...with Magic

Ever wondered why you love your hair after stepping out of the salon? It’s not the ‘comes in a gallon bottle’ shampoo…but rather, the product they put in just before you leave.

My hairdresser’s always recommended this particular styling product to me, and since she hasn’t tried to push the entire range (and I liked the effect it has on my mane), I decided to purchase a bottle for my own use at home. Guess what? It hasn’t let me down yet.

OSiS Magic by Schwarzkopf is my miracle anti-frizz serum. (Haha, did that just sound like some advertising line?) I hate the feel of goopiness or having to spend half an hour in the shower just trying to wash out a can’s worth of hairspray, and this saved me all the trouble.

Best part is, it’s so easy. Just squeeze out a small dollop, warm it between your palms and apply to dry hair. The silicon-based serum smoothes over all the flyaway bits without making your hair look too styled, especially if you’ve used a straightening iron. Perfect for wash-and-go people like me.

Oh, and did I mention it works great with damp hair too!

OSiS Magic retails for RM48 at selected hair salons.
