I love bags, but this is ridiculous...

I don’t know about you, but ever since hitting the ‘mid-twenties’, I’m getting ever more aware of the dark bags forming under my eyes. Bad enough that we have to worry about wrinkles…now this. And I definitely don’t want to end up looking like this when I’m older.

Of course, the main thing would be to actually get enough sleep to combat the bags, but for those that don’t exactly have that luxury (like me!), we end up having to resort to lotions and eye creams. Which brings me to this – Lancôme’s Blanc Expert NeuroWhite X³ Ultimate Whitening Anti-Dark Circles Eye Treatment. I got this from the counter at 1 Utama recently, so let’s hope this does the trick.

The description of the product reads: A unique eye care product made from the latest whitening technology for Asians. Helps control the formation of brown spots & reduces its intensity, visibly minimizing & lightening dark circles under the eye area. Provides comfort & calming to the delicate eye area.

The instructions are easy enough – Use twice daily, AM and PM. With ring finger, apply to entire eye area with a gentle, patting motion.

The salesgirl said to continue applying it for at least 2 weeks to start seeing a difference, but so far, I’ve noticed some improvement in the area. Will let you guys know how it goes after the two weeks are up.

Magicboo One-Minute Treatment...

Ever felt like ripping out your hair when it just won’t detangle? I know I have quite a few times, until I found this product:

It’s a generic product, but it works pretty well. It’s called the ‘one-minute treatment’, which is applied after your normal shampoo routine. Obviously, you’re meant to leave it on for a minute (hence the name) but I found it works best if you let it soak in for at least five. Afterwards, you’ll have much softer hair, and the effects last up to a week. Smells pleasantly mild as well.

Magicboo typically supplies spa products and equipment, but it has a really good range of masque and hair products as well, all at a generic salon price – not too pricey, but those looking for fancy packaging will be rather disappointed as these all come in generic containers. The other problem is that it’s pretty hard to find, but there’s an outlet right behind my house, so I don’t have that problem…*LOL*

Price: RM18.90 per 225ml tube

Paddington's House of Pancakes @ The Curve...

When you hear the word pancakes, what do you think of? The usual stacks with maple syrup? Well, Paddington’s House of Pancakes will definitely turn your perceptions of what pancakes should be upside down.

I was at their outlet at The Curve recently (believe it or not, I have NOT been there yet?) and I was very pleasantly surprised. Although the air-conditioning was a bit insufficient (it was rather balmy even though there weren’t many people around).

I tried the Amsterdam pannekoek, which looks a lot like a huge pizza. A LOT of cheese on this one.

I can’t remember what this dish was called, but the tomato-based sauce made an excellent complement to the hash browns, blinis (wheat pancakes) and grilled vegetables.

The best part – DESSERT. Let me start by saying you HAVE to try the Treasure Box. It’s a mix of dollar pancakes, strawberries, bananas, blueberries, peaches, plums, slivered almonds and finely chopped nuts – topped off with a big scoop of ice cream, dusted with powdered sugar and served with a pitcher of maple syrup. The only downside to having this dish is that you’d probably have consumed your entire week’s worth of calories in one sitting.

Oh, and just so you know: If you spend over RM50 in one receipt (before tax yea?) you get an American stack complimentary…I just happened to see it in one of the brochures. The bad part is that the help don’t mention it to you, so you’ll have to ASK for it.

Overall, it’s a fantastic place for meals, dessert or if you’re just looking for somewhere for a night snack after that late movie (they’ve got brilliant Late-Night Suppers every Sun-Thurs night starting from RM9.00++). Go check it out…you won't be dissapointed with the food, that's for sure.
