Sampuoton Fish Spa @ Tropicana…
Last Sunday, I had a chance to try out the services of the Sampuoton Fish Spa in Tropicana. I had earlier purchased a trial voucher from IBE08 for a one-hour treatment (I think it was RM80 or something for the first trial)

Sampuoton’s vouchers are quite nicely designed, which make them a good gift idea too…
I must say, I was quite happy with the level of service provided at Sampuoton. A representative called me to remind me about my appointment on the day itself, and it was a full guide throughout. After signing in, I was ushered into the changing area. Since this is literally full body immersion with the fish, you have an option to either wear their bathing suits or bring your own.

Before going in, the spa is quite stringent about making sure that you wash off every bit of lotion, perfume or makeup you have on before going into the tank (don’t want all the fish dying now, do we?)
After showering off, the ladies have a choice of either using the private tank in the ladies room (above) or join the unisex tank outside. The men have no choice though! According to the assistant though, the fish in the tank outside are more aggressive – but not in a bad way. The fish in the outer tank will just flock to you, whereas the fish in the inner tank are quite skittish, and will run away everytime you move about.
The fish in the tank are definitely different from the ones in the tank at Kenko Fish Spa in Pavilion. These really suck at your skin instead of biting it...and seriously, the sensation is quite different!
I tell you, the fish seriously just FLOCKED to my feet…and so ticklish!! They recommended putting your feet in first to get used to the sensation before immersing your whole body. And hoo boy, they were right. It was GREAT! The water is also slightly salted which is meant to be good for the skin.
After the hour was up (surprisingly, I didn’t prune that much during the session either) and rinsing off, I was ushered into the adjacent waiting area with a view of the tank. The place is quite well furnished with a reading area and tables.

Hmmm…I reckon I could’ve taken a nap here or sth!

I found out that Sampuoton also sells a range of organic teas and soaps, although none of them caught my attention in particular.
However, one thing that sets Sampuoton apart from the others is that they serve a meal to its customers after the spa – it’s all built in. They serve a range of dishes from sandwiches to pasta and Asian dishes – you select one from a list, which is then served to you along with a cup of hot tea.

Try the curry chicken with rice – it’s not bad!
Sampuoton also offers a range of massages aside from the fish therapy, and can be bought in packages. If I’m not mistaken, a set of 10 hour-long sessions costs about RM980, and comes with a set of tea and soap. However, those that don’t want the tea and soap can exchange it for another fish therapy session, which means a total of 11 sessions.
If there was one thing I had to pick out, it was the service given during the treatment. The lady patiently explained the whole process, and was on hand to answer any questions I had. For goodness sakes, she even rolled up my towel for me to use as a head rest while I was relaxing in the tank! Suffice to say, the next chance I get, I’ll definitely be going back there. Anyone wanna come with? :)
