The Body Shop Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream…

I got a 20ml tub of The Body Shop Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream with the set I bought during the sales, and have been using it for the past couple of weeks. It was meant to be a facial moisturizer, but it ended up having a different use instead.

Description:
The Body Shop Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream is a luxurious, silky moisturiser formulated especially for dry skin. Locks-in moisture to provide long-lasting hydration and protection. Helps to restore the skin’s natural moisture barrier with regular use. Skin is left feeling silky smooth, comforted and well protected. Contains organic Olive Oil, Shea butter and two sources of Vitamin E including wheat germ oil.

Ingredients:
Aqua, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Olea Europaea Oil, Butylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Triticum Vulgare Germ Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Cyclomethicone, Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil, Sodium Polyacrylate, Saccharide Isomerate, Polysilicone-11, Phenoxyethanol, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Buxus Chinensis Oil, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Parfum, Xanthan Gum, Methylparaben, Benzyl Benzoate, Retinyl Palmitate, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Hydroxycitronellal, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben, Limonene, Geraniol, Linalool, Citronellol, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Citric Acid, CI 14700.

The Verdict:
I’ve always liked the Vitamin E range from The Body Shop (the Vitamin E lip care with SPF15 is a firm favourite of mine) but I must say I had my reservations about such a rich moisturiser for my face. The cream in the pot is extremely thick – just for fun, I tipped it upside down and the cream in the pot did not budge at all!

When I started using this, there were some dry patches near my jawline (no idea why this happens sometimes) so I decided to try the cream to address the problem.

Well, the cream definitely fixed the dry patches – in fact, just two applications of the cream did the trick. However, it turned out to be way too rich for my oily/combination skin to the point that I started getting milia (oil seeds)...not good. However, I realised a much better use for the remainder of the cream – as a travel moisturiser...for my hands!

As a moisturiser for my hands and cuticles, this is GREAT! Non-greasy, fast-absorbing and long-lasting moisture for my fingers – me likey! The cream is exactly what my dry hands needed. Plus, since it’s so thick in the pot, spillage in my bag is almost impossible. Price-wise, I’m not too sure how much this costs since it usually comes in a 50ml tub instead of the 20ml tub I got...can anyone help me out here?

The Body Shop Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream comes in a 50ml tub and is available at all Body Shop outlets.
